The "It's All About Me" blog hop is still going. It has a few more days. I hope you are following this blog hop. I've seen some pretty neat looking creations that these bloggers have made using an Amy Bradley creation. Check these blog posts out and see what you can find. A fellow blogger and personal friend of mine will be on the last day at life, quilts and a cat too

And for your blogging pleasure!!
Today's Bloggers

Tuesday, February 26

I have thirty-two of eighty yoyos made for the bed runner I'm in the process of making for a client. I think it is going to be very pretty because of the fabric I'm using. I  will also work on her crazy quilt pillows again starting either today or tomorrow.

I have a question for you all. I have a variety of purple fabric that I purchased to make me a quilt. I can't decide if I want to do a log cabin using that and either some Kona Snow for the light side, or make a Dresden plate design, or maybe even a Turning Twenty. What ideas of patterns do you have that would be pretty using purples and either white or Kona Snow which is between white and ivory. Help!!!

Have a blessed day. Tell us your quilty/crochet/knit/embroidery projects you have going on.

Hugs,
Teresa

TGIF!!!

Whew! What a week we've had. We left Saturday to go be with our daughter and her family while our grandson had his hernia repair surgery on Monday. We went for Jackson's surgery in Gainesville at the University of Florida's Shand's Children's Hospital Pediatric Outpatient Surgery Center. Folks, that is a great place for kids to have surgery. Everyone was so helpful and supportive of Jennifer and Bob and of course, Jackson. They were so good at telling them what to expect, why he was acting the way he was, etc. Everything turned out great, and he is getting better and better every day and is acting more like himself than he has in over a month according to his mama. We were so glad that we didn't have to stay all day at the surgery center, and that he did so well. She was/is having a time keeping him still and making sure he takes it easy like he is supposed to because he feels so much better. Happy grandparents and parents are we!!!

Don't you just love his awesome smile? This was taken not long after we had arrived at his house. He was so excited to see Mimi and Papa. He is such a loving little man and holds our hearts in his hands. :D We love him so much. He stole our heart when we first saw him after he was born. I know now why they call them GRAND-children. Wow!  We are so proud he is on the mend and maybe he and his mom and dad can recover together and start getting some stress and worry off their shoulders.

We enjoyed our time there, but needed to get back home to get our puppies from the vet boarding which we will do today. I sure have missed our babies. We did have our granddog that we had before we had Jackson, but it just isn't the same as our own. Here is a pic of Oscar the granddog. He is eight years old and isn't in the best of health. He is really showing his age, too. LOL

On the sewing front, I worked on some yoyos for a bed runner I'm making for a client, but didn't get nearly as many made as I wanted to. I will work on them some today and this weekend for sure. I am ready to cut me out a quilt and cut out/prepare to make a pro bono kid's quilt, too. I also have to finish the pillows I started. I ordered some green crazy quilt fabric to add to the pillows. I think I have a better idea how to make the one I was working on look better. Then I can embellish it and make another one.

I hope you have a great day. Be creative, smile and make someone happy.

Hugs,
Teresa

Update on grandson: He came through the surgery with flying colors. We were home by lunch time which was a surprise since our daughter and hubby had been told to expect to be there all day. He is sore, but otherwise he is doing well. Thank you for the prayers.

Have a blessed day,
Teresa

Prayer Requests

I won't be doing a lot of posting this week, so please bear with me. We are with out daughter, SIL and grandson for grandson's umbilical hernia repair. I am asking for your prayers for all of them and my DH and I. We are all nervous, and prayerful. My daughter and her hubby did not sleep well at all, so will need God's strength especially today. This is their only child and I understand how nervous they can be over any kind of surgery. I am so thankful that we are able to be with them during this time and help out.

Another prayer request I have is my oldest brother's daughter, Robin, is in the hospital in ICU with pneumonia in both lungs, a staph infection in both lungs and in both kidneys. She is really bad shape and the family has not been given much hope at all. I am five hundred miles away from her and can't go see her. So, please keep her in your prayers.

I need your prayers, too, so remember me.

On the sewing front, not much is happening. I did bring the circles to start making yoyos for a bed runner, and I will take them to the hospital to work on if my nerves will let me. When this is over, I will work on the bed runner, two pillows, and two crazy quilt pillows. I want to start making Christmas quilts for this next year, too. I need more Christmas fabric, so I guess I need to see if I can find some marked down really low. LOL

I pray you have a blessed day. I will update this tomorrow to let everyone know how the medical situations are going.

Thank you so much for being patient with me.

God Bless You,

Teresa

Don't Forget!!!

Don't forget that tomorrow is the deadline to sign up for the my Thank You giveaway. I have gained so many new friends since this started, and I am appreciative.

But, if you did not leave me a comment telling me how you found my blog, that you followed the other two sights, and how you would spend the the gift certificate, then you will NOT be entered into the giveaway drawing. Thank you for your time and consideration for this.

On the quilting front:

I've been working on a crazy quilt pillow top for my client. I am NOT happy with what I've done, so I am going to take some of what I don't like off and redo. I may have to get more fabric, though. :( Oh well.

On another front, I've started drawing and cutting out circles to make yoyos for a bed runner. Oh it is going to be so pretty!!! I have to cut out 80 circles. I am using a plate for a template. LOL I know, that sounds weird, but it is the exact size I need! The circles are 8 1/4" in diameter to make a four inch diameter yoyo. I need to get a fat quarter of green to make the leaves, but I can get that later.

Our only baby Boer goat and the extra one my BIL left here when he picked up the majority of them to take back to his place are now gone to his place now. We may bring Brownie back in a month or so, but we will have to see. It is going to be strange going outside and not hearing Maaaa Maaaa at us. LOL They will be missed. We would like to get a few more to breed and sell, but time will tell.

I pray you are all doing well today. It is beautiful here in Alabama, even if it is chilly. I hope all my friends in the North East are safe and warm. They have had a huge winter storm. Stay warm y'all!!!

Hugs,
Teresa

Please Do Not Comment Again

Hello followers old and new!! I hope you had a blessed day yesterday! I had fun, but then it turned into frustration! I was so excited seeing all the comments for the giveaway popping up on my blog. Then I looked a little later and they had all disappeared, and I couldn't comment on any that had commented. Ugh!!! Talking about freaking out! Well, I guess all the comments had freaked out IntenseDebate, because my setting was at a limit of 25 comments and I had more than that. :-D Well, I can't get them to show back up, but I found them and copied and pasted them onto a Word document where I have the evidence of your comments. Thank you all for being patient with me! While trying to fix "the problem," I decided to update the way my blog looked. Obviously that has surprised some of you who have returned, plus you didn't see your comment. Don't worry!! I have you covered!!!!! I am taking care of you. :D I have a list of my email followers, and of those who have commented where I can make a list of the ones to enter for the drawing.

I am giving a few days for everyone to check in and have a chance to sign up for the giveaway. I know most of you work outside the home, and may not have a chance until Saturday to sign up. Please, if you want to be in the giveaway, you HAVE to follow my instructions. I will give them on this post again where you can review them

1. Tell me where/how you found my blog.
2. Go to www.thequiltinggarden.com website and look around. She has blessed us with a $50 gift certificate to the first name I draw. Get an idea of what you might buy if you win. Then either like them on Facebook, or sign up for their newsletter.  Tell me you did.
3. Check out Fat Quarter Shop, and if you haven't already, like them on Facebook, and tell  me so. The second winner will receive the charm pack I posted the picture of on yesterday's post. It is so cute!

You can tell me this in one comment. Thank you for being my followers, and I hope I can be an inspiration to you.

Here is a picture I want to share with you of the crazy quilt on its new owner's bed. I love the way it looks!

Comment problems

To all of my new and present followers: I am so sorry, but I am having problems with the comment program I was using. Please make sure you leave your comments, but make sure I have an email address to reply back to you. I have copied and make a Word document of the email addresses I have of people who follow me by email. Please make sure I have a way to contact you if you enter the giveaway here on my blog.

Everyone will have until Sunday to comment and follow the instructions I've given to be entered. If you comment, but do not like these pages on Facebook, and tell me how you found my blog and what  you would love to purchase, you will NOT be entered into the giveaway.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
Teresa

Thank you Followers Giveaway!!!!

Good morning!!! I pray you all had a wonderful night's rest. I am so excited about today!!!! I have my first ever giveaway here on my blog. I am having the giveaway, because last week I went over 50, yes 50, followers!!! I am ecstatic to no end!!!! I never expected to be a blogger until my daughter started her blog and as a result has been able to stay at home and home school our grandson while writing for other people because of what great job she does on her blog. I decided I would start a blog and did back in May 2012 with my daughter's help, to catalog and share my adventures and learning I'm doing making quilts, pillows, etc. I have wanted to make quilts since the 1980's, but never thought I would be able to until I had to stop working. I am thoroughly enjoying this trip and hope to continue for a long time.

Now to the giveaway. I have two great sponsors who are kind enough to share with my followers. There are a few things you will need to do to be entered into the giveaway.

1. Tell me how you found my blog.

2. Go visit http://www.thequiltinggarden.com/, look around, sign up for their newsletter and come back to me and tell me two things: 1. that you signed up for the newsletter or like them on Facebook (be honest now) 2. how you would spend $50 on this website.
The Quilting Garden is offering a $50 gift certificate for my giveaway!!!!

3. Go visit http://www.fatquartershop.com, like them on Facebook, and tell me in your comment that you did.
This is the awesome charm pack that winner number two will get from Fat Quarter Shop!!! I may add a few things myself to this prize!!!

So, make sure you do the above and comment on here that you did, and I will draw a name from the comments and reveal the names on Monday!!!! Good luck and thank you so much for following my blog and reading about

Thank you all!!!!

Teresa

Followers I am having a problem with my comments. Intense Debate is what I am using for my comments, but for some reason, it isn't working. I have found your comments on their website, but I have not figured out a way to even comment on the ones who have recently commented. Please bear with me. This is new to me.

Happy Tuesday

I am posting late today due to having to go to have an outpatient procedure done this morning. It has already been a long day for me and it is only 11:26 AM CT. I am reclined and checking emails, Facebook and blogs while I chill. I can't do any driving or operating machinery today, so hope my computer doesn't count. LOL

I hope you all are listening to what I say next. As a thank you to my friends and followers, I am going to announce a giveaway tomorrow. You will have to visit a couple of websites, and come back and tell me about your visit and how you found my blog. I have two awesome sponsors and I will have two winners! So, check back! I will go into more detail tomorrow, so make sure you check back here. I really appreciate you all and love hearing from you. Some don't ever comment, but I would love to hear what you are doing craft wise, and how things are going for you.

So, here is your heads up! Take care and have a blessed day.

Monday Musings

Good morning. I borrowed the title from a friend of mine on Stitches From the Heart on Facebook. She uses this title to tell us what she did last week and ask us to share what we did and what we have planned for the present week. I want to try that myself.

Last week I finished and shipped the crazy quilt to its new owner. She is supposed to get it today. I am anxiously awaiting her response to the quilt in person. I also started working on her crazy quilt pillows that will be embellished. This, too, is a new adventure for me. Here is a picture of what I've done so far:

This is the first time I've ever tried to do this, so I am struggling a little. I received some great advice from my Facebook friends, so I will try their suggestions later(Not feeling well this morning, so I will get on it later today). I have two pieces of lace on it already, but not sure how to get it to lay like I want it to, so I haven't added any more. I have beads, lace, doo dads, buttons, etc. to add on them when I finish. I sure hope they turn out looking pretty.

I also ordered and received the fabric for a yo-yo bed runner and two matching pillows I have been commissioned to make. I may get those yoyos cut out soon and get those started. I believe those will turn out beautiful.

I am so excited about my new followers and the amount I now have. I am searching for a sponsor or two to help me with a giveaway, but I may just do it on my own. On the post where I announce the giveaway, if you want to be included, you must comment on that post, tell me how you found my blog, and make sure I can contact you. I will allow a few days, then choose a winner. So, keep on the lookout for the announcement! It will be soon!

Thank you all for following my blog whether it be by RSS feed, email, or on the Google friends site. I really appreciate the confidence in me and I hope you enjoy what you  read and the photos you view. Have a blessed day and keep me in your prayers always.

New Followers

I am so excited about all the new followers I am gaining!! I have several new ones from Linking up with Richard and Tanya Quilts on Friday. It was so much fun. I discovered several new blogs myself and signed up to be a follower. Now, I want to have a giveaway choosing a winner from my followers. Just not sure how to do it, so I am going to do some research and gather items for a giveaway and let you know when it will be!!!!

I had already mentioned several posts ago that when I reached 50 followers that I would have a giveaway. Between my Google friends, my email followers and my network blogs followers, I have over fifty. So, be on the lookout for the announcement.

A couple of items to be alerted about:
1. Make sure I can contact you using your email. So, if you are not a blogger, or a no-reply blogger, then make sure you send me your email address.
2. Make sure I know your "name" and not just your follower ID, if possible.
3. If you comment, let me know how you found my blog.

Thank you for being my follower/friend. I am still new at this and I'm learning as I go. I want to be an inspiration to others and maybe inspire someone to get out of their comfort zone and get creative!!!

Stay alert and check back frequently, say hi, and I will inform you of when the giveaway will be!!!

Hugs,
Teresa

The Crazy Shortcut Quilt is Finished!!!!

Here is the final product. I added the three yoyos to make it look like a flower as an extra special touch. I just pray the recipient loves it as much as I do. I am very happy it is done. It was definitely a learning process. I did learn about quilt as you go and more about the decorative stitches on my Janome Horizon. I like the quilt as you go method, but I will do the stitching differently next time. I was not happy with how it looks, but overall it looks good. Let me know what you think.
