It is Finished!!! I Am So Excited!!!!

Hi y'all! I am popping in to do a new post for a change. LOL I hope you all have signed up for my giveaway of the book from Family Christian Bookstore called Wellness for the Glory of God. It ends tomorrow, so make sure you have gotten all of your chances to win. I will email the winner on Saturday once the giveaway is over. I also will have another review and giveaway coming up soon, so keep a watch!

What I am so excited about is the Day and Night quilt that I have been working on for over a year and was supposed to be a Christmas 2013 gift for our DS and DIL was taken out of the dryer just a few minutes ago. You just don't know how happy this woman is. I am so ready to be over this quilt. It just about kicked my booty. It is king sized, so since I don't have a quilting machine, and I don't have a large table to place it on when quilting it, it was a struggle. I finished it, so I am doing my happy dance all over the house. :D

Here it is: be kind, it isn't perfect by no means.

I also made my first Phoebe purse this past week. Here is a picture of it. I just used interfacing on this one, but I plan to make more and use fusible fleece/batting to give it more structure. I also want to make it a little larger than this one. I just used fabric I had in my stash to make it. The brown/teal floral is duck canvas fabric from Hobby Lobby. I've had it awhile.

Other than having physical therapy on my hips this week and next, I've not been feeling great. I feel better today, so I am getting much more done. Continue to keep me in your prayers.

Have a blessed day!!

Happy Valentine's Day and a Flimsy Finish!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!! Happy Friday as well! I have a few things to share with you today. So, let's get started!

First, our weather has been wild this winter. In Alabama, we don't get a lot of snow, but within the last two weeks, we have had snow!!! One was predicted to go south of us, but guess what? The cold air coming in slowed down, so it wound up hitting us! Everyone in the Birmingham and Atlanta areas were hit suddenly by surprise since it was supposed to be south Alabama and more south than Atlanta, too. It hit all the way down to the beach eventually, but the snow and ice hit the area between ten and lunch. It was awful! So many people were stranded on the interstates and other roads. Many accidents happened, etc. I don't like those kind of days. Then Wednesday we were forecast to get snow, and we did, but not as much as they expected. Georgia was hit with an awful ice storm. Our snow was almost all gone by dark last night. There are still at least two school systems still closed today where they received the highest amount of snow. Some areas received seven inches! In Alabama no less. LOL

Second, I've been working to finish the Day and Night quilt for our son and his wife. It was supposed to be for Christmas, but it didn't make it to be done. I still don't have it quilted, but I do have the top finished! Yea!! I'm very excited, so I will share a couple of pictures with you. I will also link up with Richard and Tanya Quilts Link a Finish Friday.

I've also been working on my winter crazy quilt block for Good Earth Quilting Crazy Quilt- Along. Here is an updated photo of what I've done so far.

I hope you all have a great weekend!! I still have some work to do on the above cq block, so I will do that today. Be blessed and be crafty!

Work in Progress

From

to
this......

How is the quilt looking so far? I haven't sewn these blocks together, but just laid them out on my bed. If you look at the lower right corner, you can see the quilt on our bed showing where there needs to be a block. I have 12 more blocks to create, then I can sew them together and add borders! Wahoo!!! The light at the end of the tunnel can be seen.

I really need to get busy on my crazy quilt blocks for the Crazy Quilt Along 2014 with Carli on her blog (click on her name to link to it). There are several of us who are participating. I have fabric together and my squares cut, but I have trouble working on more than one project at a time. I'm afraid that I won't get anything done by doing that.

Tell me something, do YOU work on more than one project at a time? How do you manage to get anything completed in a timely manner by doing that? Help me, please!

Hope you have a blessed quilty kind of day! Stay warm

Progress!!

I'm here! I've been busy lately and haven't blogged since Monday. I am actually making progress on our son and his wife's quilt that was supposed to be for Christmas. :D I'm still working on the top, but I'm making progress!  These are some of the blocks I've made so far.

I will keep you updated after I get farther along. Say a prayer that I get it done soon.
Hugs,
Teresa
