About Me

Hi! Thank you for visiting my blog! I get so excited when I get new visitors and regular visitors. I love company!

Now to tell you about me. First of all, I love Jesus Christ and He is my Savior. I gave my heart to Him at the age of eight. I loved hearing my Daddy talk about the Bible from as far back as I can remember. He was so knowledgeable and talked and preached about events happening in our world today for over fifty years. He did not live to see many of them happen, but God had shown him in His word and helped Daddy understand many Biblical prophecies that most don't understand or believe. I sure miss sitting down at his feet and listening to him. Thankfully, I have CDs and tapes of Daddy preaching, so I can listen to him that way. God is very important to me and I hate to hear anyone use His name in vain or say He is not real or alive. I can tell you, He lives in my heart and all around. Just look at the beautiful sights we have to behold. That should make a believe out of anyone. I may not be the best I can be, but I will always worship God and give praise to Him for all He has done for me and my family.

I was born and raised in Alabama, but have lived many other places due to my DH's Navy and civilian jobs.  Loved singing and playing the piano with my Dad and Mom as I grew up, and then later with my Dad and Step-Mom, Ruth. My mom passed away when I was 15, and my dad (who passed away in 2008) remarried a wonderful, Christian lady who went "home" in 2010. I have two brothers and one sister who are all older than me. I love them all dearly, but we don't get together as often as I would like.

I married the love of my life when we were nineteen and left Alabama to live in Idaho for ten months. We left there and were transferred to Charleston, SC where our beautiful, talented daughter was born at the Naval Hospital. Her name is Jennifer and her blog link is posted in my sidebar to the left. She is married to Bob and has our only grandchild, Jackson. He is six. He is the love of Papa and Mimi's heart. Our handsome, talented son was born in 1983 here at the former Ft. McClellan. He recently married his love in March 2012. We have an automotive technician in our son (he loves what he does) and a WAHM writer and home school teacher in our daughter. Our Son-IL is a warehouse manager for a wholesale tire company and our DIL is a future pharmacist. We are proud of all four of our precious children.

Since SC, we have lived in Maryland and Texas and several places in Alabama. We were both high school teachers. But neither of us work at the moment, so I guess you could say we are retired due to health reasons. We are now living where DH grew up in the house his dad and mom built. We have done some renovations, but it still brings back so many memories. We see his parents everywhere we look. All of our parents are dearly missed, but we must go on. We are learning about goats and how to take care of them. DH's brother moved, so his goats came to live in our pasture, and we had to bottle feed two of the babies. They became ours. We love them, and they act like puppies. They come out of the fence and follow us anytime we are out there. We also have a dog, Cammie. She is part Great Dane and part American/English bulldog. She weighs about 70 lbs and is brindle colored. She is so pretty.

As you know I am in the process of making several quilts. I started making quilts in the fall of 2010. I have had the desire to make quilts since the 1980s, but never had the nerve to try it. But, since I am no longer working due to my health, I had to have a hobby. I love making quilts to donate to children or babies. I haven't made many, but I have plans to! I love fabric and creating things with it. I just wish finances were such that I could buy all I want.

I hope this give an insight into who I am and does not bore you. :-0 I love telling about happening in my life and the lives of my family. I hope you can learn something from me as I learn the process of making quilts and giving love to others.

God Bless You All!
