Thirty-five Years

Today is DH and my 35th wedding anniversary. We celebrated by eating at Red Lobster. We usually go to Outback, but since RL was having their lobster fest, we decided to go there where DH could get lobster. I went with my usual meal of popcorn shrimp. I had an awesome salad, plus, we tried a new appetizer of Sweet Chili Shrimp. Oh my goodness was it awesome! DH had leftovers for dinner, but I was too full to eat much. I ate a couple of small garlic/cheese biscuits. Love those biscuits. Here is a photo of us on our wedding day.

On wedding day and today

Wow! Have we grown! Hahaha! Lots more gray hair, too. lol
I love DH more each day and don't know where I would be without him. We lived many places and now we are back home. We have been through thick and thin together, and came through it together. We love our two children who God blessed us with and their spouses, too. We have one grandson who is such a blessing in our lives. We have two puppies who are our children at home now. We worry about them, take care of them when they are sick, feed them and enjoy loving on them. So, this is our day. Thanks for listening.

Hugs and blessings,

Crazy Quilt Pillow Tops

This is what I've been working on lately. I have also been making yoyos, but I will wait to show these to you when the project is complete. I have never made crazy quilts like this before and the client for whom I made the quilt, asked me to make these for her. To be honest with you, I like the Pillow Top #2 better. It went together easier and just over all looks better to me. I pray that both will look good when I get them finished. I plan to work on the embellishing of them some today. The client wants more lace, which I have. I sure hope she is happy with them when I'm done. I think once I use some of the variegated thread I purchased at Joann's the other day on them, add the lace motifs I have and the buttons and pearls, etc. they will be pretty. I am also going to try my skills at silk ribbon embroidery on them, too. I included some of the fabrics from her quilt in with some satin, velvet, brocade, etc. fabric pieces that I purchased from Etsy. I have decided I like that store. :D

Pillow Top #2

Pillow Top #1

I will post more photos of them as they continue to be embellished. I hope to finish with these soon. I don't have a lot left to do on the yoyo bed runner, so hope to finish it soon, too.

Don't forget about the Nancy Drew Blog Hop that is going on and you can find the complete schedule at Sew We Quilt, or Just Let Me Quilt. Have a great weekend!

Where is the Time Going?

Okay. I have a question. Where did January and February go? It is March 4, 2013! Wow!!! We are so blessed to live long enough to see this time arrive. In just a few days, our son and his wife will celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Two days after that DH and I will celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. It doesn't seem like we have been together that long, but we have.

We have seen many changes in our lives and the lives of others in the past thirty-five years. We have seen so many changes in the world we live in especially the USA in the past thirty-five years.  I am so thankful for the experiences that I've had in the almost 55 years I've lived. Some, I would rather not have had to experience them, but am thankful that I was able to do so. Such as, losing my mother at the age of 15, the death of hubby's parents then my parents. Those times were so hard! I am thankful for our parents and what they taught us. We had some loving parents who worked hard to raise us like they did. We have gained and lost many people in our lives through the years, but you know what? That is LIFE! That is what happens in life. People are born and people die.

Okay, I will stop reminiscing for the time being. LOL What is going on at my house this week? I will continue to sew yoyos together and turn them into a bed runner. I started yesterday adding some embellishing to the crazy quilt pillow I showed you in another post. I am still not crazy with how it looks, but I hope it continues to improve as I keep adding stitches, lace, buttons, etc. to it. I plan to sew another one together this week, too. Maybe even one just using the fabrics from the crazy quilt I made. I want to get these projects done because I have some of my own that I want to do. Keep your fingers crossed that I can get these done soon.

There is a new blog hop starting on March 6th which is Wednesday. It is

You can go to www.sewwequilt.com and get more details. I believe it will be a fun blog hop! Make sure you check it out!

Have a blessed day! Be creative and make something beautiful!
